Quidient

Quidient is a deep tech, AI startup focused on scene reconstruction. We are an API-first company, enabling software developers in any industry to integrate powerful object and scene virtualization into their applications.

Generalized Scene Reconstruction

A method of creating and/or refining a scene model representing a generalized light field and a relightable matter field. Data used in reconstruction includes images, video, object models, and/or scene models. The generalized light field represents light flowing in the scene. The relightable matter field represents the light interaction properties and emissivity of matter occupying the scene. Scene data structures can be implemented using Neural Networks and Physics-based structures, among others. The light and matter fields are at least partially disentangled.

– Popular Definition from Wikipedia

Scene

A region in space (or in a world) that contains matter and transports light.

Reconstruction

Means the creation of a spatial (3D, 4D or 5D) model from one or more images of a real scene. Reconstructed models can represent objects and scenes.

What is Generalized Scene Reconstruction?

This video defines Generalized Scene Reconstruction (GSR) and explains how it differs from 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS).
